Newton is  located about seven miles west of Boston and boasts an eclectic neighborhood that comprises thirteen villages. The lack of centralization creates a charming, sprawling neighborhood with many different enclaves filled with fun things to do. Newton is popular with outdoor enthusiasts and features many well-maintained outdoor spaces. And because it’s only a few miles from Boston, the city is connected to the public transit system. Newton homes for sale offer tranquility and the best that nature offers. High-end dining and shopping opportunities abound, including Piccadilly Square and the Newton Street village shops.

With a nearly endless list of amenities, Newton luxury homes are in high demand, and this is reflected in the real estate market. Newton is known for its affluence, and the median home listing price is roughly $1.3 million as of August 2022.

Newton real estate owners have access to outstanding public and private schools, and it’s in close proximity to many highly acclaimed universities and colleges, including Boston College.

Because it’s a very pet-friendly city, there are many places that welcome your beloved furry friend, including dining, shopping, and parks. This guide lists the most popular things to do with your pet in Newton.

Hammond Pond Reservation

The Hammond Pond Reservation is a gorgeous slice of nature that is centered around Hammond Pond and features hiking trails as well as areas for rock climbing, fishing, kayaking, and cross-country skiing. Dogs are welcomed on leashes and the park is open year-round.

Just across the road is the Cassidy Playground, which features a baseball diamond, tennis courts, a bocce ball court, grills and picnic areas, and public restrooms. It’s a wonderful park that every member of your family will enjoy.

Newton Center

Newton Center is a lively, downtown shopping area that features boutique shopping, eclectic restaurants, and many businesses. This area has something for everyone in the family, including your pets. Many restaurants have outdoor patios that have plenty of space for pets, including BARaMOR on Union Street, which features bar bites and craft cocktails.
